Composition Collection

Good Pictures

In the picture above, I was aiming to get the two buildings in the background and most of the sky. It turned out the most of the picture was dominated by the trash cans. Before looking at the scenery whats eyes may look at the trash can than move to the scenery. Also there is a variety of color because of the time of day it was taken.

In this picture one may notice the motorcycles, but there is also a focus on the pattern behind it. The tower behind the motorcycles is a bunch of squares which give this picture a repetition. I also liked how the proportion of the tree branch, buildings, and the motorcycles all worked out to show the distance between the objects.

Bad Pictures

I wanted to have the basketball hoop in the far background be the focal point, but the whole picture just became disorganized. I was hoping the lines on the floor to bring it a variety of color and shapes to unify the whole picture. The picture turned out to just make my head hurt.

I thought this would be a cool time of day to take a picture because of the light coming from the sky  in the background, but it turned out to not be the focal point because the big building took up to much of the picture and threw everything out of proportion.
